The information for Sarah’s hybrid bee design is below. We are posting this a couple months early, but with replacing the September meeting with the quilt show, she wanted to be ahead of the game.
She is making a library bookshelf quilt with her blocks. She will build the bookcase, but she wants her quilty friends to fill it with books, magazines, and knick knacks.
– Size: 12.5” tall (unfinished) by any width, adding up to about 24-28 inches.
– Background: black, or nearly black tonal prints. No white.
– Colors: Scrappy, with a lot of neutrals and warm, bright colors (think Alison Glass and the 1970s).
– Designs: Anything goes! Use up skinny scraps, salvages, vintage fabrics, novelties, embroidery, piecing… Just mix it up and have fun.
Sarah made a Pinterest board full of bookshelf block patterns and tutorials, as well as quilts that inspired the project: https://www.pinterest.com/criminalgrace/library-quilt-bee/
